An estimated 2 million people call the Greater Cincinnati, Ohio area their home according to the North American Mission Board. This summer the Catawba River Baptist Association will take a mission trip to the norther part of the city hoping to help support a church plant focusing on Arabic people. You can join us on this trip and here’s how.
The dates of the trip are June 22-29. That’s a Monday through Monday trip. The trip will cost $200 plus any spending money you need, including money for four meals, two on the way to Cincinnati and two on the way home. We will have one day at the end of the trip for sight seeing while we’re there. But what ministry will we perform?
Vacation Bible Schools and Block Parties
The team going to Cincinnati will work with Arabic Church of Cincinnati and her pastor Amer Safadi. Amer cam to the United States from Jordan, first settling in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he successfully planted a church which his brother now leads. Last year Amer moved to Cincinnati to follow the call of God to plant a church in partnership with the North American Mission Board of the SBC. He’s one of our Send Cincinnati missionaries.
The Arabic Church works together with Lakota Hills Baptist Church to do Vacation Bible School. Our group will help with VBS each night during our time there.
On the weekend we’ll help with two block parties. The church does games for kids that shares the Gospel and CRBA volunteers will help man these games at the parties.
Living Conditions and Food
We will sleep in one of the churches in Cincinnati, so you’ll need to bring bedding with you. We’ll cook our own meals most of the time that we’re there. We have a person who will serve as the captain of our kitchen crew, but she’ll need support.
The church where we’ll stay has showers. This will let us enjoy decent lodging while there.
