Friends of the CRBA (4)

We are happy to announce Lin Dawson (ordained minister and former NFL player) will be our guest speaker for this year’s Friends of CRBA Banquet on Tuesday, August 27th at 6 p.m. at Mount Home Baptist Church. This will be a night of great food, inspiration and an opportunity to raise funds for CRBA ministries. Tickets will be free and an opportunity to give financially to the work of CRBA will be provided. To make reservations (and to pick up tickets) please call our CRBA office at 828-437-0137.

We are excited about this year’s Toy Store ministry as we will be celebration 25 years of ministering to families using toys at Christmas to share the Good News of Jesus. This year we are celebrating Christmas in August, encouraging churches to collect toys in August to be distributed to families during Toy Store in August. If you would like a collection box to be delivered to your church (or business) please give us a call at 828-437-0137. Collection boxes with the Toy Store Logo are also available for pickup at our CRBA office in Morganton.

We will also have opportunities to train local pastors as well do the above. LoveLoud

We are excited the churches of CRBA will be participating in LoveLOUD again this year. LoveLOUD will take place August 19-23 when our CRBA churches will provide lunch for all of our public schools (school employees) in Burke County. Chick-fil-A will be preparing the meal ($5.34 per person) and churches will be delivering the food to their adopted school on a specific day (and time) during the week of August 19. If your church would like to sponsor one of our Burke County Public Schools the week of August 19th please call our CRBA office with the name of the school you wish to adopt. If your church would like to adopt a school but is unable to financially make that happen, please let us know as we have “some” money set aside to help our churches with this event. Let’s pull together and LoveLOUD the week of August 19th. (Please note, due to the complexity of this endeavor, participating churches will be asked to use Chick-fil-A and also stick to the date and time as given. This seminary level class will begin in August at our CRBA office in Morganton. Each person attending who desires seminary credit will need to register by July 15th as a student of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and, the cost for the accredited course is approximately $750. However, if you would like to audit the course you can do so at no charge. Either way, if interested please call our CRBA office to register by July 15th. This will be a great course which will teach participants how to make disciples who make disciples.


Plans are progressing, and we appreciate our churches who have volunteered to provide food for our work crews in July. Now our efforts move to getting volunteers to help every morning, July 16-20 to help us clean up after the teams leave for their work sites.We are also in need of crew chiefs. If your church, Sunday School Class, WMU, Men’s Ministry, Youth Group, Deacon Ministry or Choir would like to help us with this endeavor please call our CRBA office at 828-437-0137.  This ministry will change lives so please 


Creative Outreach Ideas to help churches reach communities for Christ

 Volunteers are needed for Disaster Relief work following the recent flooding along the Catawba River. NCBM has established a worksite at Oxford Baptist Church, on NC16 near the river.  A number of requests for assistance have been received for clean out/tear out and mold treatment. The center is working Monday through Friday, 8:00-5:00. Groups or individuals are welcome for an afternoon, a day or longer. NCBM training is helpful, but not required.  You may call 828-514-4070 for questions or to register. Please pray for the work being done and those affected by the flooding.

The CRBA Women’s Ministry team is doing a One Day Bible School on August 3rd at Burke United Christian Ministries. We are hoping to reach unchurched children and there families through this community VBS. If you would like to volunteer to help at the bible school please call the CRBA office at (828)437-0137 as soon as possible.


Pastors/Ministers, just a reminder of next week’s deadline for the Ministers and wives’ retreat at the beautiful Elijah’s Harbor Christian Retreat Center in Greenville, TN which will be November 15-17 of 2019. This is a great opportunity for our CRBA Pastors/Ministers to get away with their spouses for a time of renewal, relaxation, and encouragement. The cost of $340 per couple includes:
· 2 Nights Lodging
· 2 brunches
· 2 dinners
· Snacks
· Ice cream social
· Amenities of the Retreat Center
In addition to encouragement and relaxation, there will also be opportunities for training, worship and spiritual growth.
