Director of Missions: Robby Smith
Robby has approximately 40 years of ministry experience and led the Daniell Baptist Association (DBA) in Ailey, Georgia, for almost 10 years (He was given the honor of being named the Georgia Baptist Associational Missionary of the year for 2015) before joining the CRBA staff. During his time at the Daniell Association DBA grew by six churches. Three large, on-going ministries were also launched during his tenure as DBA Associational Missionary: 1. A Pregnancy Resource Clinic. 2. Mercy Medical Clinic. 3. Prison Ministry located in Georgia’s largest prison. 4. Freedom House, a transitional home for inmates being released from prison to help them re-enter society.
Robby has a strong background in both missions and music ministries, however, his greatest joy is in the area of evangelism. Robby has lead conferences in Georgia teaching churches on ways to reach their community with a special emphasis on personal evangelism and small groups/Sunday School. Robby loves to train churches in being evangelistic in every ministry they undertake. Another area that Robby focuses on is Church Revitalization and leadership. He has been used by God to mentor churches through the Healthy Kingdom Church process, Sunday School mentoring, Bible Storying training, leadership training, and personal meetings with churches. Robby has led churches in the DBA to network to meet the needs of the area of DBA, the state of Georgia, our nation, and world. He has led numerous mission trips with the DBA churches, partnering together, from local to international. Since joining the Catawba River Association in October of 2016 Robby has led the Association in the following ways:
- Provide an Evangelism (Block Party) Trailer for churches to use
- Begin mission partnerships in India, Chicago, Cincinnati, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Kenya
- Become a debt-free ministry
- Helping churches in the area of evangelism, missions, and revitalization
Robby is looking forward to many more years of ministry helping churches partner to reach communities for Christ.
