Eddy not only serves Burkemont but ministers faithfully throughout the Catawba River Baptist Association. He has a servant’s heart and wants to see spiritual darkness eradicated in Burke County. This past Sunday afternoon, we had a wonderful time at our community skating event in Morganton. With over 450 people in attendance, we saw families having fun, falling, eating and laughing, and again………….falling. We also had pastor Greg Klapp from Burkemont share God’s plan of Salvation with all who attended. May God bless these efforts to bring our community closer to Jesus. Thank you, CRBA Men’s Ministry Team, for sponsoring this fantastic family event.
The CRBA would like to extend our gratitude to the following churches who have given monetarily for the first quarter of 2022.
If your church would be willing to adopt a section of Burke County to distribute these packets door to door (not door-knocking, just putting the bag on the door handle), please call our CRBA office. We have 4 maps remaining and especially need help in the eastern part of our county (Valdese and Eastward). All materials are free of charge and are customizable. The goal is to have everything distributed by Easter this year. However, if you cannot help until after Easter, that will work. Please stop by or call our office for more information and pick up the supplies.
On May 2nd, we hope to deliver 300-500 cakes to our Baptist Children’s Homes in NC, and we need your help. Please consider baking a cake (or Cakes) for the wonderful children being taken care of at our Baptist Children’s Homes. Once you bake the cake(s), please place them in one of the cake boxes we provide at our office and deliver it to our CRBA office between 7 and 10 a.m. on May 2nd. We will take all the gathered cakes to Clyde and other designated locations where they will be used for dessert after meals. And, on a child’s birthday, the child will choose which cake they want for their birthday celebration. This is an excellent opportunity for our churches and individuals to significantly impact these wonderful children and the staff at our Children’s Homes. April is dedicated to the North Carolina Baptist Children’s Homes. Please pray about donating a grocery store gift card for these homes. We are encouraging every church in our Association to donate at least $100 via these gift cards. Donations in any amount can be turned in at the Associational Office (1812 US 70 E, Morganton, NC 28655) through April 28th.

Our Ladies Ministry is working to bless families during our upcoming BurkeChangers event this summer by collecting items to be included in a hygiene ministry bag. These bags will be distributed to families in Burke County at the 5 Block Parties conducted by our students. We need your help. Consider collecting the below items over the next few months and bring them to our CRBA office by April 25th.
Items to be collected include:
- Bars of Soap
- Washcloths
- Combs or Brushes
- Shampoo and Conditioner (travel size)
- Hand Sanitizer or Wet Wipes (travel size)
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste (travel size)
- Dental Floss
This is a great “Easy Button” mission project for any size church. Please let us know if you will be helping us with this ministry or if you have any questions.

We are looking forward to our Mission Trip to Cincinnati from August 4-7. Ministries will include two block parties, prayer walking, participating in worship services Saturday evening, and handing out flyers. The approximate cost is $240 per person. Lodging will be at a local hotel and is based on double occupancy.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Saved by the Grace of God through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior.

- Licensed and ordained as a minister of the Gospel by a conservative Southern Baptist Church.
- A minimum of (3) years of experience in a church leadership role is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Partner with the senior pastor and Deacon Board in the governance of the church.
- Support the church with attendance and tithes.
- Provide assistance to the senior pastor in any area of work, as requested or assigned.
- Assist in worship services as needed and at the discretion of the senior pastor.
- Serve on church committees and support church-wide initiatives.
- Conduct funeral services and wedding ceremonies as requested.
