CRBA Update August 12, 2021

Starting tonight 3

ACP 2021

Dear Pastors and Church Clerks,
It is that time again when we ask our churches to complete the Annual Church Profile (ACP). We have sent these forms out to each of our churches however if you did not receive yours please contact us and we will make sure you receive it. These important documents can be completed on paper (deadline is September 19th) or online (deadline October 7)
As a way to say thanks to our church clerks,  this year we are offering a gift card to every clerk who completes and submits their ACP by the aforementioned deadline.

The Annual Church Profile is a quick and easy system used throughout the Southern Baptist Convention to collect vital statistical and leadership information.
Churches are asked to compile data each year on membership numbers, baptisms, worship, and Sunday School attendance, and other key areas of ministry.

Information is power! The Catawba River Baptist Association and the Baptist Convention of NC encourage you to consider completing your church’s Annual Church Profile as an act of “informational stewardship,” similar to the stewardship you demonstrate through tithes, missions offerings, and support through the Cooperative Program.

HOW CAN ACP HELP YOUR CHURCH?

  • Reviewing data from several years can help your church as you plan ministry strategies each year.
  • Completing the profile each year means your church will always have a “backup copy” of your records in a safe place, should your facility be impacted by flood, fire or other disaster.
  • The number of messengers your church sends to the BCNC Annual Meeting is determined by data you provide through the ACP.
  • The information is useful when a church is searching for pastoral staff. Pastoral candidates often seek information about the church from your our Association or the state convention.
  • The information is useful as an audit tool to help you plan and set goals for ministry.

Most drivers know it is difficult, even dangerous, to drive without a clear vision of the road ahead. Annual Church Profile data provides your association, the State Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention with key insights into the spiritual condition of your mission field.

With this information, our staff is better equipped to develop events and services that meet your church’s precise ministry needs.

Please begin working now to complete these important forms and give us a call if we can help you.

Coats for the City Dates

We are excited to announce we will be partnering with our State Convention this year collecting coats for those in need in New York City. As you know, scripture tells us to be witnesses in our communities, state, nation, and world. Therefore, part of our Acts 1:8 strategy this year will focus on New York, and we need your help. If you have new or “gently used” coats (heavy or light) that you wish to “send on mission” please bring them by our CRBA office or bring them to our CRBA Fall Meeting and Celebration October 17th and drop them off at a designated location in the parking lot of Burkemont Baptist from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. prior to our Worship Celebration which will begin at 6 p.m. This is a great way to be involved in missions!

4th Annual Golf Tournament 2021

fill the tank 3

“Fill the Tank” is a statewide emphasis to see believers baptized on September 12th. Emphasizing baptism on a specific day is a great way to encourage new believers to take the next step of obedience and faith while displaying a picture of the gospel to others. For more information on this important event and to register your church please go to www.fillthetanknc.org.

Mission Trip to Kenya

Kenya with qr

We continue to be excited for our upcoming mission trip to Kenya from October 26 thru November 5th.   We have a team of 12 people representing 6 churches.

If you are unable to travel to Kenya but wish to participate,
consider helping us with one of four projects:

  • We will be building four houses/house churches costing a total of $1,600. You can donate enough for the house ($400) or you can buy a wall ($100). These houses are for widows in villages that will also be used as houses of hope/church plants).
  • Pastor’s Conference –We will be hosting (and leading) pastor training in Kisumu, Kenya which will cost up to $2,000 for supplies and food for the Kenyan pastors who will be trained.
  • Buy a suit for one of 21 pastors @ $40 each
  • Buy a bicycle for a pastor @ $100 each

The above are great projects for Sunday School Classes, families, and churches to participate in. Also, if your church does not have plans for your church’s VBS offering, consider using it to meet some of the above mission needs.
