Are you ready for a “Food Fight”???
All participating churches in Burke County will be collecting non-perishable food items to stock the Burke United Christian Ministries’ food pantry until November 22. There will be weigh-ins of all donated food and the church donating the most food will keep the Food Fight Belt for a year.  This year there will be two categories: small and medium sized churches will less than 200 in average Sunday attendance and large churches, those with more than 200 for Sunday attendance. The belt currently resides with Pastor Mike Chandler at Summit Community Church.Burke United Christian Ministries (BUCM) will be happy to pick up the food at the different churches or church members may bring it to BUCM. Last year’s Food Fight was a great success and all the churches had a great time. The Food Fight was a huge help in providing food to 19,612 individuals totaling 809,801 pounds last year.We pray that your church will take the challenge and be part of Food Fight 2018.
Thank you to those individuals and churches who have purchased bicycles for pastors in India. We recently sent the money and the bicycles have been purchased and distributed as pictured below. If you would like to help with this important ministry, please send $80 to CRBA and we will send your special gift to those pastors in India who are in need of transportation. We are attempting to send 80 more so please help if the Lord leads you to do so.

Bozo, Sorogoye in Mali

The Bozo are a West African ethnic group located predominantly along the Niger River in Mali. The name Bozo is thought to derive from Bambara bo-so, ‘Bamboo house’. They are famous for their fishing and are occasionally referred to as the “masters of the river.” Though the Bozo are overwhelmingly Muslim, they preserve a number of animist traditions as well.
Ministry Obstacles: Mali is not a hospitable land to outsiders, and conditions are often harsh. Also, the Bozo identity is strongly Muslim.
Outreach Ideas: Christians can carry stories from Scripture to the Bozo tribes, and also use Gospel recordings and films.
Pray for the followers of Christ: Pray for God’s blessing on the leaders in the Sorogoye people, along with their families, and for their communities to welcome and enjoy God’s provision. Pray for the few Christian believers among this Bozo tribe, that they will find teachers to help them grow in the faith. Pray they will come to a good understanding of how to follow Christ. Pray they will become strong disciples.
Pray for the entire people group: Pray the Sorogama Bozo will be able to care adequately for their families, and be able to send their children to school.
I am excited to announce we will be starting a weekly prayer conference call for all who would like to pray together during the week. I will have more details in the weeks ahead but we will begin this special ministry the first week in December. The Prayer Conference Call will be once each week and will not last longer than 15 minutes. Please stay tuned as we will be sharing more next week.

Quote 3

I’d rather be able to pray than to be a great preacher; Jesus Christ never taught his disciples how to preach, but only how to pray.
