Statement of Faith
1. We believe in one God, Creator and Lord of the Universe, the co-eternal Trinity: Father,
Son and Holy Spirit. For all tenets of the Christian faith, we are in agreement with the
Baptist Faith and Message, as adopted by the 2000 Southern Baptist Convention, which is
attached hereto as Exhibit “A” and incorporated herein by reference.
We believe that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the
Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary atoning death on the cross, rose
bodily from the dead, and ascended to heaven whereas truly God and truly man, He is the
only mediator between God and man.
We believe that the bible is God’s authoritative and inspired Word. It is without error in
all its teachings, including creation, history, its own origins, and salvation. Christians must
submit to its divine authority, both individually and corporately, in all matters of belief
and conduct which is demonstrated by true righteous living.
We believe that all people are lost sinners and cannot see the Kingdom of God except
through the new spiritual birth. Justification is by grace through faith in Christ alone.
We believe in one holy, universal and apostolic Church. Its calling is to worship God and
witness concerning its head, Jesus Christ, preaching the Gospel among all nations and
demonstrating its commitment by compassionate service to the needs of human beings
and promoting righteousness and justice.
We believe in the necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit for the individual’s new birth
and growth to maturity and for the Church’s constant renewal in truth, wisdom, faith,
holiness, love, power, and mission.
We believe that Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return in glory to raise the dead
and bring salvation and judgment to completion. God will fully manifest His Kingdom
when He establishes a new heaven and new earth in which He will be glorified forever
and exclude all evil suffering and death.

2. Family and Marriage Definition:

Marriage is a biblical institution established by God as
clearly described in the Scriptures. This Association recognizes that marriage is the uniting of one biological man and one biological woman (as God intended for them at their birth) in a covenant commitment for a lifetime. Thus, this Association, its churches, pastors, and staff will
not participate in same-sex marriages. This Association’s property or resources will not be used
for such purposes. The Bible teaches that legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within
marriage. Therefore, this Association cannot condone any form of sexual immorality, including
fornication, adultery, same-sex marriage, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest,
pedophilia, transgender activity, and pornography.

A. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female.
These two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God in creation
(Genesis 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the creation of God within
that person.

B. We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all, including those who deal with
sexual sin, who confess and repent of their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus
Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).

C. We believe that every person, including those who deal with sexual sin, must be afforded
compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and
harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in
accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of the true church.

3. Dignity of Human Life: We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God. Human
life is of inestimable worth in all dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically
and mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural
death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value human life (Psalm 139:13-18).
