The pastor is responsible to Mount Home Baptist Church for proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the Biblical revelation, to engage in pastoral care ministries, to provide administrative leadership in all areas of church life and to act as the chief administrator of the paid staff.

A pastor should live according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7:  This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God? Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Paul, in writing to the Corinthian Church, established the principle of efficiency. He said, “Let all things be done decently and in order.” (I Cor. 14:40)

Senior Pastor Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of a BA in Theology, Masters degree Preferred
  2. Plan and conduct worship services with emphasis in ”Proclamation”.
  3. Prepare and deliver sermons.
  4. Lead in observance of ordinances.
  5. Lead church in an effective program of witnessing and in a caring ministry for persons in the church and community.
  6. Visit members and prospects.
  7. Hospital visitation ministry.
  8. Ministry to the bereaved and dying.
  9. Shut-in and convalescent care.
  10. Counseling ministry;
    a. Personal and religious problems
    b. Pre-marital and post-marital
  11. Special Services:
    a. Baptism
    b. Weddings
    c. Funerals
  12. Serve as chairman of the church council to lead in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the total program of the church.
  13. Training of membership to lay leadership skills.
  14. Enlargement of missionary interests and vision.
  15. Work with deacons, church officers, and committees as they perform their assigned responsibilities.
  16. Act as moderator of church business meetings.
  17. Cooperate with associational, state, and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern. Keep the church informed of denominational developments.

Job Summary: Mount Home Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate Interim Music Minister to lead our congregation in worship through music. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in church music, a heart for ministry, and the ability to inspire and lead our choir and congregation in worship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Sunday Morning Worship: Plan and lead the music for Sunday morning services, ensuring a worshipful and engaging experience for the congregation.

  • Wednesday Night Choir Practice: Conduct weekly choir rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, preparing the choir for Sunday services and special events.

  • Song Coordination: Select and coordinate the songs to be sung during Sunday morning services, working closely with the pastor and worship team to ensure a cohesive worship experience.

  • Special Services and Events: Assist in planning and leading music for special services and events, such as holiday services, revivals, and community outreach programs.

for youth & children program. Applicants must be licensed and an
ordained minister with a preferred 3 years of experience in church

Expectations:
