| Let’s Celebrate Fill the Tank   Fill the Tank Sunday Celebration This past Sunday, many of our churches participated in Fill the Tank Sunday, a special time set aside to celebrate what God is doing in the lives of those who have recently received Christ. It is a joy to see believers publicly declare their faith in Christ, and to witness churches coming together in celebration of new life. Across our association, baptismal waters were stirred as individuals took this important step of obedience. Each story is a powerful reminder that God is still saving, still transforming, and still at work in our communities. To God be the glory for all that He has done! What a blessing it is to see lives changed for eternity! Timothy Project   This past Sunday’s Timothy Project gathering was a powerful and encouraging time for everyone in attendance. We were blessed with an incredible turnout, a clear reflection of the growing desire within our church families to live intentionally and embrace what it means to be sent. Our heartfelt thanks go to retired missionary Tim Bentley, who shared with depth, authenticity, and conviction about living a “sent life.” His years of experience on the mission field brought both wisdom and inspiration, reminding us that being sent is not limited to a place, it is a posture of obedience wherever God has us. Tim challenged us to see our everyday as mission opportunities, encouraging us to be attentive to opportunities to share hope, serve others, and reflect Christ in both word and action. His stories, rooted in real-life ministry, helped bring clarity and urgency to the call we all share. It was especially encouraging to see such strong engagement and hunger from the students present. The conversations, reflections, and prayers that followed made it clear that God is stirring hearts and preparing people to step into deeper purpose. Let’s continue to carry this momentum forward as we seek to live faithfully, boldly, and with a sent mindset in the days ahead. Youth Spring Mission Trip  We are grateful and blessed to share a wonderful report from the CRBA Youth Spring Break mission trip to Spruce Pine Rebuild. Seventeen participants from three churches; Burkemont, Hopewell, and Pleasant Hill, served together Monday through Wednesday, making a meaningful impact in our western North Carolina community. During the trip, five families affected by Hurricane Helene were assisted through a variety of hands-on projects, including construction, landscaping, mildew treatment, and wood splitting. Beyond the physical work, our teams experienced the joy of serving together and sharing gratitude for God’s many blessings. There is still a great need for ongoing support as NC Baptist On Mission continues helping our neighbors recover. The 200-bed Spruce Pine Recovery Center is an excellent location for both short-term and day mission teams looking to get involved. Contact David Turbeville if interested : 828-448-9615 Partner News SBC Worship Survey  A research team with the Worship Initiative is conducting a survey of music and worship practices in SBC churches—the first survey of its kind since 1938 (!)We’re asking SBC churches of all sizes, ethnicities, and worship styles from across the country to let their voices be heard by completing this 10-minute survey. The more feedback we get, the clearer the picture of what worship and music looks and sounds like in our SBC churches.So far, we’ve had over 950 churches complete this survey, but only 30 of those are from North Carolina. We’d love to hear from many more of the 3,000+ SBC churches in North Carolina. That’s why I’m asking for your help. Click for a short video. Big House Family Ministries is Hiring JOB TITLE: Director of Support Services/Burke Co. REPORTS TO: Executive Director POSITION: Part-Time (20 hours/week) at $20/hour. LOCATION: Burke County NC (with overlap in adjacent counties). The mission of BHFM is to equip the Church to care for foster and adoptive families. POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Support Services is responsible for developing partnerships with churches and childcare agencies, primarily in Burke County, NC. Church partners are encouraged to develop in-house foster/adoptive programs that can include Replanted support groups, Family Advocacy Ministries (FAMS), TBRI Training opportunities, and/or intercessory prayer groups. Specific duties include: Shepherding FAMs, recruiting Church Advocates, and support them in their efforts to set up Care Communities and other FAM ministries at the advocate’s church using BHFM tools and resources. Support Church Advocates in coordinating and managing volunteers and documenting families and children served. Ensure volunteers complete and document all required training courses. Shepherding Replanted Support groups: Provide leadership and support to Replanted group facilitators and leadership team members. Ensure all appropriate training is complete and documented. Assist with implementation of a Replanted Fall Conference once established (future). Fielding Community Requests: Receive, vet, and respond to community requests for assistance. Connect families with churches to receive FAM-related support, or, if needs are outside of BHFM’s mission, connect families to other community services. Other Duties: Support the executive director and board in fundraising tasks as appropriate. Assist with special events, including Creek Day and the annual Hope Encounter fundraiser. Serve as a spokesperson/representative in the local community. Participate in ongoing training as needed. General Qualifications: Dedicated to Big House Family Ministry’s vision and mission with a passion for serving foster and adoptive families.Agreement with the BHFM Statement of Faith. Agreement with BHFM position on Church Engagement. (Nicene Creed)Clear sense of calling to this role in this organization.Demonstrated record of successful past collaboration in a nonprofit ministry setting.Ability to communicate across diverse audiences in various denominational settings. Strong community-building skills and eagerness to contribute to the BHFM team.Strong time management and organizational skills, including an ability to work remotely with minimal oversight.Willingness to give and receive feedback.Ability to inspire and motivate volunteers. Flexibility in working toward meeting expectations while nurturing ongoing participation. Experience related to foster care/adoption services is desirable but not required. The successful candidate must provide their own car to travel between churches and other business meetings. Travel expenses for work-related mileage will be reimbursed per BHFM policy.
