Founded in 1799, Silver Creek has stood as a steadfast witness to the hope of Christ through war and peace, revival and hardship, growth and change, proclaiming the unchanging message of Jesus Christ across generations. The celebration was a powerful testimony to God’s enduring faithfulness. The church was filled with members past and present, friends from sister churches, and leaders from across the association, all gathered to honor the legacy of this historic congregation. The atmosphere was one of joy, gratitude, and unity as hearts and voices lifted up praises for all that God has done through Silver Creek over the centuries. Tables were overflowing with incredible food, lovingly prepared and joyfully shared—a true Baptist tradition! But it wasn’t just the food that fed the soul. Throughout the day, testimonies were given that stirred hearts and brought tears to many eyes. Stories of salvation, missions, baptisms, callings to ministry, and the rich heritage of faith were shared by members, young and old. Each testimony was a reminder that God is still writing His story through the people of Silver Creek. One guest remarked, “You could feel the presence of the Lord in every part of the celebration. From the food to the fellowship, and especially in the stories of transformed lives, it was clear that this is a church with a heart for Jesus and a passion for people.” As the Catawba River Baptist Association, we are grateful to walk alongside Silver Creek Baptist Church. Their 225-year legacy challenges and inspires us all to remain faithful to the mission of Christ in our own communities. We give thanks to the Lord for Silver Creek’s past and pray with great expectation for its future as we work together to reach our communities for Christ. Happy 225th Anniversary, Silver Creek! May the Lord continue to bless and use you for His glory.
