Visit a nursing home—spend some time listening to widows or widowers share memories of their spouses. Ask someone who is divorced/single/widowed over for dinner. Help kids decorate cookies or cupcakes to give to seniors in your church, a nursing home, a homeless shelter, or perhaps your local fire department. Pray with and for those who are grieving during this holiday! Since Valentine’s Day is on Wednesday this year, consider doing a vow renewal service for those in your church and community. Following the service, have a reception (party) at the church. Send Valentine’s cards to those who have lost a loved one recently.
