Together, they helped families continue the long process of rebuilding their homes and their lives after Hurricane Helene. From construction work to cleanup and encouragement, our team labored with servant hearts and willing hands. Just as important as the physical repairs were the prayers offered, conversations shared, and hope demonstrated in Jesus’ name. We are so grateful for these faithful volunteers and for the churches that sent them. This is what partnership in the Gospel looks like, churches working together to meet needs and share Christ’s love in tangible ways. So You Wanna Be a Crew Chief Ramp Build  We rejoice in a wonderful act of service as several men from our association churches recently built a wheelchair ramp for a neighbor in need. These men participated in the “So You Want to Be a BurkeChangers Crew Chief” training as they prepared to lead projects this summer, and they did an outstanding job putting their skills and servant hearts into action. This ramp is more than a structure. It is a picture of Christ’s love expressed through willing hands and compassionate hearts. We are truly grateful for the way these men served with excellence and joy. A special thank you to Foothills Service Project for generously providing the materials that made this project possible. We are also deeply thankful for Jonathan Puckett for organizing and leading this mission opportunity so faithfully. Thank you, men, for serving our community so well and for stepping up to lead the next generation of mission efforts this summer. Since the inception of South Mountain Baptist Camp in 1957 in the South Mountains of North Carolina, the goal was to provide an environment that fosters spiritual growth through disconnecting from the world so as to connect with God. Time in nature, being exposed to new skills, and making friends, enables children, teenagers, and adults to learn about Jesus Christ and the message of salvation. South Mountain seeks to keep camp affordable for everyone and offsets the cost of camp by around $100 per camper since it’s estimated that the cost of South Mountain’s summer camp is $205 per week and the true cost of camp is over $300 per week. Proceeds from each race goes directly to the camp’s operating budget. This race celebrates God’s work through South Mountain and the ability to experience a great, low-cost camp.
